What about those aged 13 to 40, who would be the most 'productive'.

Babies at that young an age is unusual, even amongst Muslims. You are showing your Islamophobia again, you realise?
And Brian you are showing your ignorance. Stating 'statistics' for women approaching menopause (or who have possibly already reached menopause) and trying to pass them off as of normal child bearing age is ridiculous.
44 is not necessarily "approaching menopause," Black Orchid. 13 is underage for child bearing though...

There's another potential rat up the sewer here. Read the statement carefully:
In 2006 Muslim women aged 40 to 44 years had 2.9 babies each, compared with 2.0 for all women in Australia.
So is the sample broader for ALL women in Australia, ie 13 to 50, whilst only 40 to 44 for Muslim women?

Given that study was done by UniSA and leapt upon by Q&A, I'd prefer the ABS figures myself which state that Australian women do NOT have 2 babies per woman:
A total of 309,142 births were registered in Australia in 2017, resulting in a total fertility rate (TFR) of 1.74 babies per woman, the lowest since 2001.
http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats%5Cabs@.n ... endocument

This birth rate of course includes "Muslim Australians".

To your final "point":
Only anecdotally, "Nicole". I have many friends, many of whom are right-wingers who wouldn't lie about how their societies' cope with Muslims. They are happy with most Muslims who they perceive as being peaceful, well-adjusted, assimilated people. They recognise there are troublemakers on both sides of the fence. Do you?
C'mon Brian, you want me to accept anecdotal "evidence" from a few of your imaginary right wing friends? :roll

Good pick up Nicole. Says the total opposite to what Brian is trying to portray.

The only rat I perceive up a drain pipe is yourself, "Nicole". You're concentrating on the exceptional statement, rather than the rule. Let us look at the statement in total again, shall we?
3.7 Muslim fertility

In 2006 Muslim women aged 40 to 44 years had 2.9 babies each, compared with 2.0 for all women in Australia.
After adjusting for factors including education and employment, the average number of children born to Australian Muslim women was 2.5, which was still higher than Christian women, who had the second highest average fertility level at 2.1. Fertility behaviour is one of the most socially and culturally regulated behaviours in society. There is a general tendency towards convergence of fertility behaviours of migrant and local populations
The first sentence is about a specific age group - for both Muslims and "all women in Australia," "Nicole".

The rest of the paragraph, begining with, "after adjusting for factors", refers to all age groups. Yes, I agree it is badly worded but that is the only problem with the statement, "Nicole", there is no deception intended, except in your suspicious mind.
Given that study was done by UniSA and leapt upon by Q&A,

Was it? Really?

Oh, dearie, dearie, me. Comparing 2017 rates with 2006 rates, "Nicole"? Obviously it seems that rat is running further up that drainpipe. I didn't realise you were statistically ignorant...

Up to you. You appear to believe that you're not a friend, "Nicole". I accept your right-wing opinion as being valid, don't you? My friends are a varied lot, many are on military forums. I believe what they say because they have proved their credentials on other topics, "Nicole".

Brian you provided the misleading quote from a university paper, not me.

I’d like to see you address IQ and black orchids points:

The average age for a woman to have a baby in Australia is 31, Brian. Now why do you think this dodgy little study you have picked focuses on 40 to 44 year olds, hmmm?
