Taxpayers foot multi-million dollar advertising bill in final days before election is called

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg justified the advertising spending by saying Labor did the same when it was last in power.

Labor estimates the AusTender advertising contracts were worth $252,276,527.80 over the period from January last year to the end of February this year, a daily spending rate of $600,659.

But Labor engaged in the same campaigns when it was in government in 2013

I have, Black Orchid. It is your party which is repeating the same immoral act as the ALP did. I can just imagine what your reaction was six years ago, now can't I? "Oh dear, the ALP is spending our monies on advertising. I think it should be illegal! Boo-hoo! Boo-hoo!" Yeah, Black Orchid your own political biases are showing through. The problem is, it is your Tory party which is doing this, NOW.
