I haven't been to Vanuatu yet but it's supposed to be beautiful. A friend of mine went there years ago and she brought me back some really nice material. Not like the Balinese crap. I had it made into dresses. The quality of their things seems superior to other islands, including Fiji, and I won't be going there again. More Indians than Fijians now and that's a real shame.

Get it in now before the Chinese call in their debt and take over :thumb

My last trip was to the US.

So you didnt like FIJI?

I had that on my list of short cruises,

Never been much interested in USA but find the Canadian Cruises interesting and of course the Mediterranean Ones.

A cruise would probably be the exact opposite of what I like to do for a holiday.

I like hiking, trekking a mountain at 4am to see the sunrise, getting lost in a city and finding stuff not in the guide books.

On my last holiday because we had the little one, we stayed at a resort for a week and I was bored out of my brain.

I have been to Fiji many times and the Fijian people are some of the most hospitable in the world. There are more Indians there now than Fijians and it just isn't the same.

The US is awesome. Especially the north east New England area. Americans are also amongst the most hospitable. Once they hear an Aussie accent they swoon. Not altogether sure why though lol.

Massive lakes for water sports (and electricity) too. Not sure why we don't do similar here. We have the room.

Meh, age is just a number, but I've still got a 4 in front of it :)

I know my holiday choices aren't for everyone. Good thing is my daughter is now old enough to do some adventure holidays with me.

We're probably going to NZ in December, so for a few days I'll leave wife and bub somewhere nice and firstborn and I will go for a trek for a few days.

I sort of figured something like that mine has a 7 in front so that might explain our differences in holiday choices

cheers

Age aside, a cruise just isn't my cup of tea. If I wanted a slow relaxing holiday, I'd rent a place in an interesting area for a week where I can absorb the surroundings, get a coffee in the same place every morning and be a pretend local.

I see a bot as two purposes
1 to fish out of
2 to get me somewhere

Simply sitting on a boat for the purpose of sitting on a boat makes little sense to me.

I want to be somewhere and usually get tgere by plane
My travel is predominantly to places I want to see.
I love architecture, visit different parts of the world to see it.

My wife loves antiques
So we also travel to buy them

Most of my family however, cruise.
From what I gather, it's an exercise in getting drunk, eating and gambling.
Not my scene
I have a dream
A world free from the plague of Islam
A world that has never known the horrors of the cult of death.
My hope is that in time, Islam will be nothing but a bad dream
