I gather the things that are really becoming extinct at a really alarming rate are insects, beetles and bees etc.
I gather this is largely due to the extensive use of insecticides in agriculture.
Not quite, unless you did your gathering at a function of full of Leftist apocalyptics (is there any other type?)

If you were concerned after reading a sentence like “Populations of honeybees have crashed in recent years, and many researchers have pointed the blame at a class of widely used insecticides called neonicotinoids,” you are not alone. That’s how an otherwise excellent article in The Scientist summarizing a recent USDA study on honeybees’ molecular responses to neonicotinoids began.

But you needn't be. The narrative that honeybees, which are actually not even native to North America, Europe or Australia, face mortal danger and will take us down with them has been advanced by environmental groups for years and echoed in media, casual blogs and mainstream science sites. This twist on the news is so pervasive that it’s often accepted without question...
In a program I recently heard discussing this...
I'm guessing it was the taxpayer funded Greens and ALP aligned media arm of eco-catastrophists panic merchants?

In a program I recently heard discussing this, an example the commentator used was of how on any long trip years ago, you would have to clean the glass of your windscreen every time you filled up with petrol, not now days.
Agreed.

Not anecdotes at all. There is more evidence indicating that pesticides pose more than significant risks to wildlife than not.

Anyone thinking they are harmless are brain dead.

Raw nerve? Or are you trying to beat Bri Bri for the most ignorant forum lefty award?
Youre an outside chance with Leftwinger already running a distant second to Bri, so you will need to lift your game considerably to challenge Bri bri's years of wilful ignorance experience. :thumb

red as you know the greens have been in control of Canberra for a long time.. Labor have never been able to work without them/.

have you in all your life ever lived in such a filthy town as we do now?

they have knocked down so many trees here they go over night as if they never were.....its disgusting not a thing to save us from the dust bowl they have created... YET we dont hold them accountable you I am sure will vote Labor next time round....as is your right but they have been hand in hand with all this development which we have no say in at all.....oh yes they have their little Community Meetings.....   and therefore we believe they have the sanction of the community..... :rofl :rofl

Until what is happening actually affects you and your area we take no interest..... but look around and ask yourself are they making our town a nicer looking/ better place to live in ??????>..... the roads get narrower...the roundabouts get smaller or unless you live in Gungahlin BIGGER have you seen the one that has 9 sets of traffic lights on it......this is a CREATED TOWN..... :rofl :rofl :rofl

I could go on and on...everywhere we go its a muddle of criss crossing traffic..and now in one street near myself is one set of speed control humps after another intermingles with tiny little roundabouts....it must be more than dangerous for a motor bike.....we also have them at every school....which means we have to slow to a crawl even on school holidays...... because they obviously are the cheapest way to go...

we live in a town of control freaks..who are doing a lousy job.

Sound like you live in a different city to me cods.

Filthy? not sure where you get that from? although I do admit people dont bother having green lawns as much now since we are now charged for water

Trees? Are you talking about Northbourne Ave where they are installing the light rail, I cant think any other major tree knock down

All the rest seems no different to years ago some new roads in new areas, some widening, some speed bumps where people have complained

perhaps I need a set of your type of glasses

Disagree. I think IQ is very smart. He’s called for Black Orchid to reference her statement - a fair request.
