No, I don't love Pauline Hanson, not in the slightest. I actually met her at a dinner in 1998, when she was riding high on the back of her initial Maiden Speech. She was foolish and ignorant and that was just from dinner-time conversation. She has reinforced that view ever since. She was done for fraud and then let out of prison. She spent years in the wilderness, running unsuccessfully - usually deliberately - in order to get some revenge on the Australian society that had imprisoned her. It fuelled her lifestyle and she made quite a tidy profit, sometimes not even bothering to campaign. I am unsure why she is seen as the Great White Hope of Australian politics. She is ignorant and foolish and jumps willingly into bed with who ever or what ever group she was the last to listen to. Now she believes she knows it all about Port Arthur after reading Joe Vialls' book on the event - Vialls was of course the conspiranut who created a whole conspiracy with SAS snipers and fake drug busts and so on out of Martin Bryant's unfortunate decision to kill as many people as possible to get his 15 minutes of fame. I have read nearly all the books about her, by the last Svengali whom she has decided to fire in a pique of rage. I have read the hagiography, written by her secretary. I have read the political analyses of her and her party. She represents the foolish people who prefer to believe in conspiracies than reality.

Australia society created the legislation which she was found guilty under, Black Orchid. Australian society created the judiciary and the prison system. Australian society elected the Government which had Tone Rabbit in it and of course, you know the role that he played in her being found guilty of Fraud.

"Ignorance is no excuse" used to be fairly common statement which judges used to make to the guilty party when they suggested that they hadn't known what they had done was illegal. She signed the papers that created the "Pauline Hanson One Nation Supporters Group" and the "Pauline Hanson One Nation" political party. She led the triumvirate which used the membership lists from the first organisation to claim that the PHONies had the required 10,000 members to register it with the Commonwealth Electoral Commission. She and one of the Davids, David Oldfield ended up in prison when they were found guilty. David Oldfield being more wily than her and the other David walked scot free. Funny that, hey?
