For example, I'm an evangelist Christian who has adopted Buddhist meditative and mindfulness practices.

I read a book called The Power of Now recently. It's mostly about mindfulness, with some strange Buddhist theatrics thrown in. I can see why mindfulness is becoming popular. I found the other Buddhist stuff kind of irritating how they borrow so many terms from science, but give them no apparent alternative meaning. The mindfulness stuff was explained 100 different ways, as it is an unusual concept.

I am a Born Again who does Yoga.

If a faith is strong enough to pass scrutiny and allow it's followers to research other faiths.
It will survive without forcing people and will be stronger for it.

Then there are faiths or cults that are founded on lies, brutality and punishment.
These survive by punishment, murder, clandestine practices and force.
These are weak cults that will grow weaker and eventually die or be killed off.

And both have their failings

But the biggest failing of any faith is the people in it.

I am a Christian, but I do not go to church.
There are too many hypocrites in church
I prefer to worship in my own way and simply believe and do what good I can.

I am an Born Again.
I don't go to church. I believe that is for immature Christians.
I would be very happy to go to a church. Have nothing against them. Just prefer cycling or swimming with my wife at those times.
