The trouble is with that theory is the majority of Liberal voters now fall into the middle ground which was occupied by Turnbull, Bishop and Pyne,

the climate deniers like Abbott, Dutton and That Nazi Tasmanian are out of touch with most voters who support action on climate and a decent energy policy I think this will certainly work against them getting reelected.

Thats my thoughts anyway!

Liberal party does need it, indeed. I was told that Morrison was a moderate, not a conservative, and if moderates are leaving .... good, maybe he is more conservative than moderate (or small l liberal? )

Abbott has had his day and needs to step aside. What we need is to get rid of the 'progressives' from both major parties. Shorten included.

NO ... the MAJORITY of Liberal Party voters are "conservatives" and that is why Turncoat LOST almost all the seats that Abbot had gained .... we did NOT VOTE FOR TURNCOAT ... they say he lost a MILLION conservative voters at the 2016 Election. I voted Informal ... got my name ticked off and wrote a rude word on the ballot paper.

The OTHER problem is that Labor is no longer the Party for The Workers. Rusted ons will usually vote the same way, every time (which includes Labor, Liberal and National). This is why the various Parties are a total mess and people are voting in Independents ... who cannot actually "govern" anything. The whole system is a shambles and I am not sure that I will bother to vote next Federal Election, rather pay the $20 fine, in Canberra my vote would got to Labor in any case ... wouldn't vote Labor in a fit.

Definitely NOT. I didn't care for Howard either and almost voted for Keating in 1996. But didn't as my dear old Mum would have come back to haunt me.

As a leftie ALP member, I am not a Shorten fan but am stuck with him at this stage, I would have much preferred Albo as was voted by the majority of the other members of the ALP but that got overridden by the parliamentry members,

My mum was a catholic and voted DLP, but was finally swayed to vote for Bob Hawke as she liked him as a person!
