My Mobile is pre-paid with a different carrier and I put $30 in it every so often ... only use it for texting (and checking the time). :rofl
Lol, you are like me. My son called me a dinosaur, I have a $10 mobile from woolworths. I got $10 prepaid credit when I bought it, lasted me 6 months.
I've had a Mobile Phone for at least 10 years .... its a Samsung Galaxy .... when the lawn needs mowing I text the lawn bloke.

I do NOT give out my number to all and sundry ... get enough of annoyances on the regular phone.

Im paying 80 bucks a month for phone and internet whereas before it was about $120, speeds about double, no where near advertised but i expected that. i thnk the main reason less dropouts is because it comes into your house on coax whereas before they used your copper telephone wires.
This is good.

We are $105 per month. Includes unlimited calls to NZ landlines and mobiles.
We were on coax before, had pretty much no dropouts.

Are they changing all the old copper phone wires to coax?
Any copper wiring outside your home will stay is, however this is dependent on faults. At the moment the NBN engineers are replacing the old infrastructure as needs be. But your home internal copper phone wiring is redundant, as far as I am aware all connections from the curb to your home will be coax. I got this info from my son who works on the NBN.
yes, that is what happened to our place.
They put the NBN on and replaced the coax from the house to the street.

We kept the old plan going as it suits us ok.
We can always update the phone/net plan whenever we want, it gives me time to consider it.

Am thinking of using 'Belong' for our net and putting my mobile on a cheap plan with 'Belong' that will include unlimited international calls.
Also, drop the landline.
Probably won't be a lot cheaper overall, will be using my mobile more fully and reducing the complexity in the house.

Any thoughts?

I've had the NBN since March 2018. I went through my usual ISP (whom I have been with for about 15 years) and have had absolutely no problems at all. I pay around the same as I did before for ADSL+2, and Telstra landline. A much faster connection, cheaper phone calls and NO DROP OUTS, thus you really need to use a Proxy to stave off stalkers. ;)

You pay for what you get. If you live in a house with say, 4 people all wanting to be online at the same time .... perhaps you need to pay more. I don't know as I am a single and when the grandkids come over they are constantly on their phones, downloading stuff, but I am not worrying about me downloading anything at the same time. Doubt if would make a difference. Ask your friends, see what they say.

I pay about $60 a month for internet and phone, plus calls. My mobile is pay as you go.

Check around Sprint. I pay $69 per month for unlimited high speed internet and that includes the phone with all local, national and mobile calls included.

My local and national calls cost 15 cents each and I would only make one national call every 6 months, and about 3 or 4 local calls a month! My mobile phone isn't used to make calls, I just use it to text people and that would cost me about $2 a month. The internet and phone costs me $59.95, unlimited, plus say $2 for local/national calls and $2 for the mobile phone, so say about $64 a month, all up.

Sprint, you need to figure out what usage you need and check around various ISPs. Me paying for the same service as Black Orchid would be wasting money. :rofl

National calls are almost redundant anyway as most small business numbers are now listed as, or directed to, mobiles and that can be quite expensive.

i am sure Sprint can search up what he needs.

hhmmm, most recent comments are bad.
Maybe the providers are very busy ?

Anyway, have sent away for a 'Belong' Sim for my phone. That is sort of step 1.

thanks for your suggestions and comments all.
