For me it's the same price but I went from constant dropouts to none. Happy.Super Nova wrote: ↑Wed Feb 20, 2019 10:27 amGood to see that NBN is delivering some value now.
How much extra do you pay compared to what you were paying before for this service?
Do you feel it is good value?

Nowhere near as fast as it should be but that also has a lot to do with your modem and computer.

Im paying 80 bucks a month for phone and internet whereas before it was about $120, speeds about double, no where near advertised but i expected that. i thnk the main reason less dropouts is because it comes into your house on coax whereas before they used your copper telephone wires.

We are $105 per month. Includes unlimited calls to NZ landlines and mobiles.
We were on coax before, had pretty much no dropouts.
Are they changing all the old copper phone wires to coax?

I am paying $59.95 for the 12Mbps and that includes the phone. I usually get about 11.70Mbps, which is fast enough for me.
With ADSL+2 I was getting about 6Mbps for $39.95 and then had to pay Telstra for phone rental which was around $30 a month, plus local phone calls at 30cents and STD for many dollars a minute. Now I get 15 cent calls Australia-wide.
My Mobile is pre-paid with a different carrier and I put $30 in it every so often ... only use it for texting (and checking the time).

Any copper wiring outside your home will stay is, however this is dependent on faults. At the moment the NBN engineers are replacing the old infrastructure as needs be. But your home internal copper phone wiring is redundant, as far as I am aware all connections from the curb to your home will be coax. I got this info from my son who works on the NBN.sprintcyclist wrote: ↑Wed Feb 20, 2019 4:16 pmThis is good.rhino wrote: ↑Wed Feb 20, 2019 2:49 pmIm paying 80 bucks a month for phone and internet whereas before it was about $120, speeds about double, no where near advertised but i expected that. i thnk the main reason less dropouts is because it comes into your house on coax whereas before they used your copper telephone wires.

I've had the NBN for 12 months now. No complaints. I can download games and watch movies easily on what I have.cods wrote: ↑Wed Feb 20, 2019 6:14 pmhow long you had NBN nef? I have had the odd message from iinet.. but nothing from the nbn...
