I didn't participate in the vote. It didn't matter that much to me, and in my opinion, there were a lot (and still are) more pressing issues that this joke of a government needs to deal with. I found the whole thing a waste of time, money and was ashamed at rainbow banner waving LGBTIDHSHFLSFLSHSDGDSL community for putting so much effort just so their relationships could be recognised by the state.. who cares? It's a piece of paper and to me smelled of entitlement and desperation to be "normalized" and "accepted".

Aside from those who practice religion and what not, marriage is pretty much obsolete in my opinion. Considering a de-facto relationship that lasts six months is equivalent to marriage anyway, where assets are concerned. Gay gay de-facto relationships are recognized in that too. Furthermore, society isn't as strict on those who drop babies without being married, much like they used to. My grandfather wasn't even religious and he told my mother that she had to marry my father if they wanted to live together, otherwise it would be "living in sin".

Despite my issues with religion, I fully support Christians rejecting performing marriage ceremonies or refusing to cook them wedding cakes... just go to a church and/or bakery that supports it.. easy fixed. On the other hand I'm not ashamed to tell Jehovah's Witnesses to take a hike when they show up on my doorstep with pamphlets.
