I've joined the Greens
In pure frustration and loathing of what the current (Labor) government has done in Tasmania, and the fact that the Libs support many of the policies I oppose.
So I won't be around much till 20 March, when the Tas election is.
It's the first political party I've been in since the United Tasmania Group, back in my uni days.
Feel free to let other boards know.

Have fun Hebe. I am trying to get a mental picture of you chained to a tree.
See you after the 20th.
Cheers.

You have to be if you want anything done around this place.
I suppose I can be a Green union councillor. We aren't affiliated with any political party.
Dean Mighell wrote an article in the paper recently about the union movement having to move away from the ALP. I don't like Mighell, but I think he's correct.

Great work Hebe - you'll be right in the thick of it in Tasmania which desperately needs more Greens. Feel free to put up any information on PM regarding proposed actions. Being a Greens supporter I am happy to encourage anything promoting their cause.

hebe - everyone has to move away from the lying loser in the alp
the ONLY reason they get in is becauce the green preferences default to the ALP.

Re: I've joined the Greens
That's only because the Liberals have dismissed them for years as being a party of no consequence. Tony Abbott has been indicating that he has a green streak. If he can keep up the act - maybe he'll convince the Greens that they should give the Libs some preferences. In fact I think at the State elections - the Greens usually give 50/50.
The Greens have become very disillusioned with the ALP and have little or no faith in them at present.
