Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) exploded on Monday after multiple left-wing publications fact-checked her and criticized her defense of the numerous falsehoods she has told.

The former bartender claimed on CBS News' "60 Minutes" on Sunday that people were too focused on being "factually" accurate, and not focused enough on being morally right, which drew widespread criticism.

That criticism carried over into news reports today from left-leaning publications, including The Washington Post and CNN, which published reports titled, "Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s very bad defense of her falsehoods" and "Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's very slippery slope on facts," respectively.

Even leftist Whoopi Goldberg slammed Ocasio-Cortez, advising her to "sit still for a minute and learn the job .. .before you start pooping on people and what they’ve done, you got to do something ... "

Ocasio-Cortez then suggested that it was not fair that she was, in her own mind, being held to the same standards as President Donald Trump.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is facing some backlash for saying she plans to “run train on the progressive agenda,” using a crude slang phrase with a vulgar sexual connotation.

Ocasio-Cortez made the comment when addressing the heightened criticism she’s faced from conservatives and right-wing media.

“Enjoy being exhausted for the next two years while we run train on the progressive agenda,” she told her conservative critics in an interview with The Washington Post.

Writer Luke Thompson was temporarily suspended by Twitter for calling Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez out on giving her boyfriend a job in her Congressional office.

Thompson had discovered that Ocasio-Cortez’s boyfriend, Riley Roberts, is now listed as staff in the House directory and tweeted “while you were having a nice Valentine’s Day, @AOC decided to put her boyfriend on staff – drawing a salary on the taxpayer’s dime. Nice to see her adapting to the swamp so quickly.”

She thinks that offering Amazon $3 billion in tax incentives and subsidies (which would have resulted in $27 billion in tax revenue, employment of 25,000 plus workers and would spur economic growth) is money in hand that they can spend elsewhere instead.

How can she think that a $3 billion tax break is money in hand that they can spend elsewhere?

She got elected because there was only a 5% turnout in her district. I bet most of the 95% who didn't vote will be out in force next time ... against her. All those out of work who Amazon was going to train and employ.

Mayor Bill de Blasio said Sunday that US Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was wrong to have claimed the collapse of the Amazon deal would free up $3 billion to fix the city’s subways and hire more teachers.

During an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” de Blasio agreed when host Chuck Todd said that the tax breaks offered to Amazon weren’t “money you had over here. And it was going over there.”

“Correct,” de Blasio said.

He added: “And that $3 billion that would go back in tax incentives was only after we were getting the jobs and getting the revenue.”

To further drive home the point, Todd said, “There’s not $3 billion in money —”

“There’s no money — right,” de Blasio said.

The exchange came after Todd suggested there was a “factual divide” that kept Ocasio-Cortez (D-Bronx) from understanding “how this deal worked.”

He also played a video clip that showed her reacting on Thursday to Amazon’s cancellation of plans to build an office complex in Long Island City.

“If we were willing to give away $3 billion for this deal, we could invest those $3 billion in our district ourselves, if we wanted to. We could hire out more teachers. We can fix our subways. We can put a lot of people to work for that money, if we wanted to,” Ocasio-Cortez said at the time.

Her remarks prompted President Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. to tweet: “Will someone please explain to me how it is possible for NYC to SPEND a $3 Billion tax break on anything? This is insanity.”

Several conservative websites also piled on, blasting Ocasio-Cortez for her “idiotic claim” and saying she “should retake basic math.”
