Why don't you just hold your breath Brian, then you won't produce any carbon dioxide and the world will be a much better place! :bike
Such a nice response, Neferti. How is your breathing going?

It was a nasty comment wasn't it petal? :rose

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Tennis players are sweating, toxic ozone warnings are out for Sydney and fruit is cooking on the branches. This is a heatwave, Australia.

Sarah Fitton is an extreme weather meteorologist at the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) who said the heat would peak over the next few days.

There is expected to be a slight reprieve over the weekend before the heat starts to build again across southern Australia early next week.
Joy or freaking joy

It must be murder out there for those tennis players. I would not be doing that for any amount of money!

I am almost d.e.a.d. This bloody heat is getting to me. It got "down to" 24C last night! I didn't sleep well, obviously. It was 40C yesterday and 38C today and despite having air conditioning (Daikin Split System) I had to have fans on in the bedroom and study ...

I've been feeling really nauseous, the thought of food doesn't help. I sip water and eat a bit here and there but wake up feeling sick ... until I have my Vita Brits for breakfast. YUCK!

I can't wait for Autumn ...

It is still bloody H.O.T. in Canberra today. Didn't get to 41 at my place, got to 38 which is bad enough. I woke several times last night and it was still 24 ... in the middle of the night! Then dropped down to about 20 at 6 am when I got up.

Yes, Canberra has HOT, Dry, Summers but often the "heat" doesn't come until end-January/February. February is usually our hottest month! This year it started before 1 December (Summer) and, with the exception of a couple of days when the temperature dropped to about 22 during the day and it actually "rained" (for 5 minutes), this bloody heat has been constant! I am feeling quite nauseous, which I presume is the heat and not something else. Oh, currently it is 36 and the humidity is 28%. It's like living in a Brickworks and I haven't even been outside today. :rofl

Hope that you have air conditioning, Cods. I don't have any cats or dogs ...

This heat has gone on far too long .... and there is still pollen floating around so I am not feeling 100%.

Victorians might have to go without dishwashers and other household appliances to take pressure off the power grid as Melbourne prepares for its hottest day in a decade.

Melbourne is facing a top temperature of 44 degrees on Friday, and thousands spent a hot Thursday night without electricity with about 5800 properties affected by blackouts.

A spokesman for Emergency Management Victoria’s control centre said the cause of the outages was under investigation.

The blackouts came after Energy Minister Lily D’Ambrosio urged households to ration their non-essential electricity use.
