Prefer nft and argregate systems myself, as these allow you to use old tubs, guttering down pipe etc,

Re: Aeroponics
Hydroponic techniques and I agree that they would be more efficient than an air and spray system.

Re: Aeroponics
nft is nutrient film technique, and agregate sytems ues an inert and sterile agregate like perlite or vermeculite or a mix of the two , Most peeps that use nft use a hybrid of the nft, by placing small containers with agregate in them ,into the nft channel..this allows you to to apply nutrient less often

Re: Aeroponics
Yes it is hroponics, Hroponics covers any situation where plants are fed via a nutrient solution and not raised in soil/dirt
You would traditionaly use a chanel that was very flat and had a regular fall to one end, that when liquid was pumped into the high end it would create a film of liquid the witdth of the channel , you cover the channel with a light proof cover pander film or such like, the put holes in it a space that suits the size of the plant you are growing , you ensure the seedlings roots are touching the film of nutrient on the floor of the channel and away you go,

Re: Aeroponics
There are a few issues with areoponics, all your containers need to be light proof, all your spray nozzles need to remain clean or they will not create the mist required, this will require a comprehensive filtration system, and as with nft you will probably need to run the system 24/7,
This does not mean its a bad system , But possibly one thats lends its self more to a comercial operation

Thanks, yes, I think aeroponics is more suited to a commercial operation.BigP wrote: ↑Thu Jan 10, 2019 1:43 pmThere are a few issues with areoponics, all your containers need to be light proof, all your spray nozzles need to remain clean or they will not create the mist required, this will require a comprehensive filtration system, and as with nft you will probably need to run the system 24/7,

My problem with growing food is watering it at the right time. We just don't do it.
Am thinking of a timed mist spray system inside a greenhouse. make it as automated as possible.
House the sprayers inside on the greenhouse framework. Time the misters to come on say twice a day every day, 2 minutes per session.
