And the point of this is? What, exactly?
Anything "home made" is invariably more dangerous than something which has been purchased. The person who created this hydrogen generator did not take precautions for pressure relief valves. That he was generating hydrogen is such a manner makes me question what the purpose was.

Most people would only publish their “achievements” and not their failuresbrian ross wrote: ↑Fri Jan 04, 2019 2:25 pmAnd the point of this is? What, exactly?

If you followed the link and read about this home scientist he explains what happened and why it failed etc
I find it most fascinating that people are prepared to give things a crack themselves and are self taught - like scientist of old
Experiment and see what works - what doen’t work - and then come up with a final product
But i found it Hallarious that his mate used the highly technical term of - “your bubble thing blew up”
My daughter found that most amusing as well laughing for around 5 minutes

Perhaps however, it might be better for him to have read a bit more widely before he attempted his experiment. Was it you, by chance who attempted this?

I don't think I have the temperament to be honest - I can sit for hours working out how some things work - maybe a computer problem, but other things bore me to no end - I'm probably more mechanically minded rather than scientific - although I find scientific achievements fascinatingbrian ross wrote: ↑Mon Jan 07, 2019 8:48 pmPerhaps however, it might be better for him to have read a bit more widely before he attempted his experiment. Why is that Brain, Is your design a complex one ?
Pulse Jets in their most simple form are Just a chamber with diferent sized holes at either end,,

BECAUSE I've never owned a compressor to start it
I've tried to use a blower but it would not suck the fuel through
but I have just purchased a compressor, as luck would have it
I have a week off next week, maybe I'll get the time to try it?

Mmm, not quite. From my memory, pulse jets consist of a little bit more. The Germans developed one which consisted of some doors, a fuel injector and a long combustion chamber/tail pipe. They had to get it accelerated to IIRC about 100 mph to get it to light and used a steam catapult to achieve that. The Americans copied the Fi103 and used solid fuel rockets to accelerate it.
