never expected any differently... but.... lose enough members and it could be earlier.Black Orchid wrote: ↑Tue Nov 27, 2018 2:32 pmLooks like we are heading to the polls in May!
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-11-27/ ... t/10558080Australians are all but assured to head to the polls for a federal election in May, with the Prime Minister announcing he will deliver the Budget in April.
Scott Morrison said the Budget would be on April 2, 2019 and Australians would go to the polls after that.
But his hold on power has been threatened even more, with backbencher Julia Banks announcing she has quit the Liberal Party.
She made the announcement in the House of Representatives at the exact same time Mr Morrison was holding a press conference.
Ms Banks said she would sit on the crossbench but has guaranteed the Morrison Government supply and confidence.
Mr Morrison would not be drawn on the exact date for the election, but May 11 and 18 appear most likely given Easter and school holidays in April.

https://www.theaustralian.com.au/nation ... 1543544862Former Liberal prime ministers and arch rivals Tony Abbott and Malcolm Turnbull should campaign on polling booths together at next year’s election, Nationals deputy leader Bridget McKenzie has suggested.
Senator McKenzie said she “absolutely” wanted Mr Turnbull campaigning for the Coalition and publicly backing the Morrison government to win when the nation headed to the polls in 2019.
Where the hell do they find these morons?

Bridget McKenzie is apparently a Senator for Victoria representing the National Party. Says it all really. I had never heard of her before this.
Just another moron.

Re: 2019 Federal Election
The whole Federal (and State) Government/s are full of morons. I think we should have a vote on whether "compulsory" registering and voting at Elections is DEMOCRATIC.***
As far as I know, not voting in the Federal Election still costs just $20. However, I checked the Victorian EO and they have it as $81. Yikes!
*** and while we are at it, stop this compulsory "preferential" crap.
Unless something changes, dramatically, I will NOT be voting in the next Federal Election. I am well over it all.
Besides, I think everybody needs to have a good dose of Labor for at least 3 years, because I think people have forgotten what it is like. They need to be reminded every few years.
Our local ALP Government with a homosexual Chief Minister has just spent huge amounts on Canberran Rate Payers' monies for ... wait for it ... same sex traffic signs!

Not voting doesn't help...
At least with a vote your primary vote helps to finance the party you voted for.
