I once knew an Egyptian who had spent several years in the US. Whenever he filled out a Government questionnaire it had apparently the question, "Are you of African ancestry" on it. He would tick "Yes". He was of African ancestry. You are mistaking place of origin for the supposed "race" of an individual. Egyptians are and always have been African. Just as have been Ethopians, West Africans, sub-Saharan Africans, Zules and even Boers (who consider themselves the "white tribe of Africa"). Skin colour is meaningless. I didn't claim all Egyptians believe they are African ancestry. He was doing it 'cause it used to piss the White and Black Government officials off. He used to describe their nonplussed expressions when he was called to the desk. They expected him to be black. He just said, "I was born in Egypt and Egypt is in Africa..."
