had some Liberal junk mail today nef.. asking if I am sick to death of rates going up...

not sure if we are due for an election but I thought I might reply to this....

I have lived here for about 7 years and apart from getting my bins emptied I havent seen anything in my neck of the woods thats worth the rates I pay

not one thing.we have had a few threats of the roads being sealed but nothing ever happens....

so yes I might send in my impressions of our govt.....you know the mob thats chopping down trees willy nilly turning the Bush Capital into another Parramatta.....

have you seen the apartment blocks they are allowing to be built in Civic opposite Glebe park....looks like there will be 3 times as many as there used to be....should make the highways and byways a nice place to be...  ..thank god I dont work and have to deal with it every day.
its a nightmare.
I've had junk mail, recently, from the local ALP bloke. He did door knock a few years ago and told me he was the Minister of the Uniting Church down at Kippax and running for the ALP. I told him that he had wasted a call as I vote Liberal. His face dropped. :rofl

I see the "mobile street sweeping" truck slowly drive up and down my street every so often. Apart from that no sign of anything else going on in my street.

Once upon a time the ACT Planning Authority were very strict about the height of residential buildings and how many parking spots were needed, etc. These days high-rise blocks of units are going up all over the place.

When I last worked I used to drive down Kingswood Smith Drive to Barton, I used to leave just after 8.30 and miss all the "traffic". Often, if I had hung clothes on the line in the morning, I would drive home at lunch time to take them off the line if it looked like rain. Use to take me all of 15-20 minutes there and back. I have no idea what the morning traffic is like these days. A neighbour works for the Senate and leaves home at about 9.15 most mornings, so I guess it still takes 15-20 minutes.
