well I just checked it was 100 year ago exactly that preferential voting was introduced......

100 bloody years do we still have horses and cart as our main transportation ???

surely the system is now outdated.....we have come a long way the country has matured...ok ok maybe we are still in nappies with some things
but now every man and his dog is running for parliament...its a ludicrous system to still be using...

The system is as it is because the 2 major parties want to remain in power so compulsory voting and compulsory preferences.

they cannot force me to vote......but if I do they can force my vote to preferentials.... and that pisses me off.

ikf we can tick a box to follow a party dictate why not a box to say you wish to only have a primary vote....

FOS should also mean FOV

We already have had optional preferential... OPV is used in elections in New South Wales and the Northern Territory. It was used in Queensland from 1992 to 2015... you just number the boxes you want to :roll:

FED is far more important to me

thats what federation is about..
