Australian Terrorists Stripped of Citizenship

Post by Black Orchid » Thu Aug 09, 2018 12:40 pm

Australia has stripped five people of their citizenship due to involvement with Islamic State and "serious terrorist-related activity", Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton says.

"We have taken a decision that these people have been involved in serious terrorist-related activity," Mr Dutton told AM.

"Australia is a safer place for not having them return," he said.

The five terrorists are aged in their 20s and 30s, Mr Dutton has not released any information about who they are or what exactly they have been doing with Islamic State.

The only person previously stripped of Australian citizenship under the anti-terror laws passed in 2015 is Khaled Sharrouf.

He shot to global infamy when photos were posted online showing his seven-year-old son in Syria holding a severed head.

Mr Dutton said the five stripped of their Australian citizenship have been acting against Australia's interests by engaging with terrorism and "effectively chosen to leave the Australian community".

The anti-terror laws mean Australians can have their citizenship cancelled if they also hold citizenship of another nation and therefore are not left stateless.

"The determination of the Government is to try and keep Australia as safe as possible and we do that by keeping these people far from our shores so if we can deal with foreign fighters away from our shores we do that," Mr Dutton said.

"If people are coming back here armed with all that knowledge it does provide a significant security risk to Australian citizens so we are very keen to neutralise that wherever we can."

Stripping the Australian citizenship of the five started last year.

Mr Dutton said it takes a long time to gather evidence including checking the intelligence that has been gathered about each person.

"Obviously when you are talking about a war zone, it is a very different circumstance than a crime zone in Australia in terms of gathering that evidence," he said.

Mr Dutton said more people could have their Australian citizenship cancelled but said it would not be "large numbers" of people.

He noted that some Australians who have gone overseas to fight with Islamic State have been killed on the battlefield.

About time too! Sharrouf's wife and kids should have been stripped of their citizenship too.

Oh no. Such tragedy. We should give them citizenship. And money. Refugees are blessing.

There are some 400 of these murderers under investigation right now.

Stop screwing around

If they are under investigation, it's time to send them back.

Even thinking about being a terrorist should be enough to get rid of them

Bye bye Mundane.
I have a dream

A world that has never known the horrors of the cult of death.
My hope is that in time, Islam will be nothing but a bad dream

Jihadis must be tracked or deported or they’ll kill
Jennifer Oriel
November 12, 2018

Three little words stand between Islamic terrorists and Australian innocents: shoot to kill.

After Friday’s terrorist attack in Melbourne, it is clear we need more than words to protect us from the march of international jihad.

We need a moratorium on immigration from Islamist states. We need to deport jihadis and their Islamist sympathisers before they attack. And we need to ensure that police are trained to use lethal force as the first, not last, defence against an active terrorist.

The jihadi who killed and maimed Australians on Friday was Hassan Khalif Shire Ali. He was an immigrant from Somalia and, like many terrorists, he had a history of behaviour that alerted security and intelligence agencies.

Australian Federal Police national counter-terrorism manager Ian McCartney said Shire Ali was known to police for his radical views but was not considered a serious threat.

It is a common error to believe that people who hold jihadist views are capable of living peaceful and productive lives in a liberal democratic society. They are not.

For several years, I have written in these pages about the ideological basis of Islamist terrorism. You cannot hope to stop the violence unless you address the belief system that fuels it.

In 2015, Shire Ali’s passport was cancelled when ASIO revealed he had planned to go to Syria. At the time, Islamic State was gaining strength in Syria and Iraq. Back then I warned that Islamic State sympathisers should be deported because you cannot be a law-abiding and productive citizen of Australia if you believe in jihadism.

It is a comprehensive ideology developed by hardline Islamists. The Islamic State playbook, Management of Savagery, reveals the religious basis of jihadism and its central strategic objective to destroy freedom by destabilising nations from within. Jihadist tactics include sowing discord, creating chaos and draining the economic and protective capacity of legitimate states.

Permitting jihadist sympathisers to live in Australia poses a significant risk to our national security, economic stability and future prosperity.

Shire Ali was known to state and national terrorism authorities. Australians are asking why a man so well known to counter-terrorism authorities was allowed to roam free on the streets of Melbourne. If jihadis and their apologists cannot be deported, they should be fitted with GPS trackers to prevent them from manifesting violent ideology.

Many people also are asking about the police response to the Bourke Street terror attack.

Why did police officers attending the scene allow the jihadi to chase them and lunge at them repeatedly with a knife before shooting him? As news.com.au reported, bystanders were urging the officers to fire.

A witness called Markel told ABC Local Radio: “A lot of bystanders (were) actually just screaming at the police officers, because the police officers were trying to take the knife off him and arrest him but bystanders were yelling out: ‘Just shoot him, just shoot him.’ ”

Police have new powers to employ lethal force against terrorists but seem reluctant to use them. Victoria’s counter-terrorism laws were overhauled this year.

The Labor government said the new laws would “better protect Victorians from terror attacks”. The reforms were supposed to “clarify Victoria Police’s powers to use lethal force in response to a life-threatening act where it may be the last opportunity to safely and effectively intervene”.

In other words, when you see a terrorist, shoot to kill. Young police officers need to be trained to understand they are duty-bound to stop an active terrorist by any means necessary.

Scott Morrison responded to news of the terrorist attack by saying “the greatest threat of religious extremism in this country is the radical and dangerous ideology of extremist Islam”. That’s right.

According to the four-stage model proposed by academic Randy Borum, the terrorist radicalisation process begins by framing an event or situation as a grievance (it’s not right), which is elevated to the category of injustice (it’s not fair).

Stage three is target attribution, where the injustice is blamed on a single entity and those associated with it (for example, the West).

The final stage is devaluation and distancing, where the identified target is devalued as evil and the terrorist in training is encouraged to distance themselves from it, providing the justification and impetus for aggression.

There should be no confusion about the Islamist belief system that drives radicalisation and culminates in an act of terrorism.

Extensive research has revealed how jihadis think and exposed their radical disrespect for Westerners and moderate Muslims alike.

The jihadi loathes Western liberal culture, its freedoms and citizens. He views the West as decadent and evil. In his mind, there is no universal humanity, only Muslim v non-Muslim. As such, he feels no obligation to the non-Muslim people of the West, our laws or culture.

Consider the words of teenagers arrested in 2016 who were allegedly armed with bayonets and planned to decapitate Australians. One of them previously had abused police on film: “Whatever Allah orders me to do I’m going to do it … youse (sic) are nothing but a bunch of pigs and we are going to rule this earth by sharia.”

Or consider Sevdet Besim, who was sentenced to 10 years’ jail for planning an Anzac Day terrorist attack in Melbourne. His suicide note detailed plans to “establish jihad in Australia … to fight … those who have implemented man-made law … to defend Islam and put fear into those who are enemies to Allah and his religion”.

The jihadi’s loyalty rests not with his nation or fellow citizens but the Muslim caliphate. If Australia has a future as a liberal democracy, we must reject those who reject our way of life. The soldiers of international jihad have come to create an Islamic state on Australian soil. They have overstayed their welcome. It is time for them to go home.
Like Hanson said bwian and many others believe.... there is only 1 solution... STOP IMPORTING MUSLIMS AND SEND THOSE DEEMED DANGEROUS HOME.

Your solution ... do nothing then wait till someone dies... then do something... is irrational bwian.

PM right to call out violent Islamists
By Kevin Donnelly
12:00AM November 12, 2018

In 1996, after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War, American academic Samuel P. Huntington argued that the next existential threat facing Western civilisation would be the clash of civilisations and different religions.

Last Friday’s terrifying attack by an Islamic-inspired terrorist and the death of Sisto Malaspina, the co-owner of Melbourne’s Pellegrini’s Espresso Bar, provide yet another example of how prescient Huntington was.

Last week’s events, while intensely painful and distressing at a personal level for all those affected, illustrates the continuing conflict and terror associated with Islamic fundamentalism’s jihad against Western civilisation and Judeo-Christianity.

Whether Islamic terrorists attack London, Manchester, Paris, Nice, Boston, New York, Bali, Sydney or Melbourne, the reality is that those committed to Islamic fundamentalism are incessant in their desire to rain destruction and death on the West.

Even more significant is the fact it is increasingly clear that some migrants allowed to settle in Australia present a clear and present danger as, in addition to not wanting to assimilate, their religious beliefs are inimical to our way of life.

Contrary to what Labor MP Anne Aly argues when condemning Scott Morrison for calling out the threat represented by “radical, violent, extremist Islam”, the reality is that not all cultures and all religions are equal or worthy of respect. As Ayaan Hirsi Ali writes in her book Heretic: Why Islam Needs a Reformation Now: “Islam is not a religion of peace.” And in reply to those foolish enough to believe the opposite, Ali writes: “We must acknowledge that they (radical Islamists) are driven by a political ideology, an ideology embedded in Islam itself, in the holy book of the (Koran) as well as the life and teachings of the Prophet (Mohammed)”.

In a series of interviews published in 111 Questions on Islam, Islamic scholar Samir Khalil Samir also argues that Islam is inherently violent when he quotes from the Koran verse 29 of repentance, sura 9. It states: “Fight against those who do not believe in God or in the Last Day, nor consider forbidden what God and his apostles have forbidden, nor acknowledge the religion of truth.”

Samir goes on to note that Jews and Christians, also referred to as people of the book, have a special place in Islam’s battle against the unbelievers when he quotes from the Koran: “Had the People of the Book accepted the faith, it would surely have been better for them. Some are true believers, but most of them are evildoers.”

As detailed in The Third Choice by Melbourne-based Anglican pastor and Islamic scholar Mark Durie, the Islamic practice of dhimmitude commands that unbelievers have to convert to Islam, be taxed and treated as inferior or face death.

Christianity, on the other hand, as evidenced by the New Testament, is a religion of peace. According to the Bible, the second most important commandment is to “love thy neighbour as thyself”. Unlike the Prophet Mohammed, who was a military leader and who spread Islam by the sword, Jesus preached tolerance and forgiveness, saying: “Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.” Unlike the Koran’s emphasis on jihad, the Bible also states: “But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.”

The Christian belief that we are all made in the image of God and that we have free will and the ability to decide right from wrong, as well as the Enlightenment’s commitment to rationality and reason, distinguish Western civilisation from Islam and the Koran.

Whereas Christianity experienced the Reformation and disagreements are permitted concerning how best to interpret the Bible, Islam holds that the Koran must be taken literally and that any who disagree are guilty of apostasy and must be punished.

Witness the fate of Asia Bibi, who spent the past eight years in jail awaiting trial for daring to be a Christian in Muslim Pakistan and who now, even though the Supreme Court dismissed the charge against her, is in hiding, fearful of being murdered.

As noted by Hirsi Ali, one of the reasons Islam is incompatible with Western civilisation is because it is based on the belief that the Koran is “the last and immutable word of God and the infallibility of (Mohammed) as the last divinely inspired messenger”.

Add the fact Islamic states, especially those based on sharia, are theocracies, unlike Christian nations where there is a distinction between church and state, and it is clear why Australian politicians and governments must do all in their power to protect and defend our way of life.
