Does GUN control REALLY works?

Let's find out!

Prague, capital of Czechia
Population: 1.281 million (2017)

Gun laws in Czechia:
Firearms ownership has a very long tradition in the country. The English term pistol originated in 15th-century Czech language. The Czech lands have been the manufacturing center (including weapons industry) of Central Europe for over two centuries.

Unlike in most other European countries, the Czech gun legislation also permits a citizen to carry a concealed weapon for self-defense – 240,000 out of some 300,000 legal gun owners have a concealed carry permit.

Adelaide, Australia
Population: 1.277 million (2014)

Gun laws in Australia:
In Australia, Section 12(2) of the Act provides that a person does not have genuine reason for a licence if ‘the Applicant intends to possess the firearm or use the firearm for any of the following reasons:

(a) personal protection or the protection of another person
(b) the protection of property (other than in circumstances constituting a genuine reason as set out in the table to this section.

This prevents a licence being issued for personal protection.

Comparison of crime data:
https://www.numbeo.com/crime/compare_ci ... Comparison

Level of crime
Prague: 19.33%
Adelaide: 31.32% (bigger danger)

Worries home broken and things stolen
Prague, 20.83%
Adelaide: 33.61% (bigger danger)

Worries attacked
Prague: 17.75%
Adelaide: 28.59% (bigger danger)

Problem violent crimes such as assault and armed robbery
Prague: 14.02%
Adelaide: 30.91% (double the chance of being assaulted or robbed with a gun)

Violent crime can mean just about anything, gun related crime and death is a different matter, chekoslovakia has twice the amount of deaths by firearm that Australia has annually.

A stick? A table? A stool? A glass? A bottle? Anything can and has been used as a weapon in the past. America (and it appears Bulgaria) are uncivilised places where gun nuttery rules the roost. Australia is a civilised nation, where Gun Nuts are treated with disdain and their views ignored as being lunatic and pointless. Australia is a peaceful (largely) law-abiding society. We as a society decided not to go down the Wild West path after the Port Arthur Massacre in 1996. You are welcome to order your society as you see fit, Flektarn. Australia is not Bulgaria (thank goodness). You can be as neo-Nazi and as bigoted as you like - in Bulgaria. I pity the non-neo-Nazi Bulgarians, thats all.

Guns are not the issue Brian, For the most part there are more fatalities when guns are used , But if that guy in Melbourn had half a brian he could have taken a lot of lives

You should really try to control your angst, Brian. I can sense you pounding the keyboard.

It is, absolutely, none of your business what people are able to do in America, Bulgaria or anywhere else. Cease and desist the Holier than Thou crap.

Leave Flektarn alone. He isn't hurting anyone.

Yeah

He lives in a country who's people have some rights

Unlike Australia's dictatorship started by howard the murdering war criminal coward and continued by every successive grubberment since.

howard the coward murdered people just to get his draconian gun laws passed.

This little dictator wannabe also allowed Australians to die in the Bali bombings rather than warn them, just so he could go to war.

I hope he suffers in hell for eternity, the little grub
I have a dream
A world free from the plague of Islam
A world that has never known the horrors of the cult of death.
My hope is that in time, Islam will be nothing but a bad dream

It's funny Brian speaks about civilisation when just a few days ago people got stabbed in a mass stabbing in Melbourne, Australia when in fact... Knives have been banned in Australia for years.

Knives have not been banned in Australia, any more than Guns have. Run along, back to your uncivilised, ignorant society, where you can be as bigoted as you desire. Tut. tut.

Oh, dearie, dearie, me. Lordy, lordy, Valkie you sure do speak bullshit, you know?

Run along, I can hear your nurse calling you back to the little kiddies' playground. Tut, tut, that they should allow miscreants to run around.
