speed freaks

Post by Auzgurl » Mon Dec 28, 2009 5:31 pm

I was about 4 months pregnant and driving in the small hours on the last leg of a trip to Adelaide from country NSW..

I had been driving for about 2 hours with noone to talk to and my co pilot was asleep..

I felt kind of somehow a bit zoned out, tired and full of preg hormones and so lazily drifted along the freeway, I pulled up at a set of lights. At this point completely left to my own devices I was quite bored..I saw a guy on a light motorcycle , a trailbike type of thing. He was right beside me and I gave him that look..you know the one that says 'lets do it'.? He just looked at me , I fancied a bit perplexed but I really couldnt see much , as the lighting was dimmed and he wore a helmut..
I gave those revv up noises 2- 3 times and with the light change I raced him to the next set of lights..I was thrashing him, he was eating my exhaust fumes..
Anyway, a short story even shorter, about 2 minutes later he had me pulled over on the side of the road and was giving me a lecture etc..my co pilot was only just coming too and had missed the whole thing..

He let me off with a warning..I was lucky..

This is a pet peeve of mine. (I have a pet peeve ranch). I work often with violence, try to get a cop out and it takes yonks, if they ever come, but speed and they are dropping out of trees.

I got a reckless driving conviction for going 140 in a 60 zone, (I was drunk but fortunately only those little R2D2 road camera things caught me) but it was out in the middle of no where, no houses, along a rail line. Why was this ever a 60 zone? And why did I not get some credit for making a Hyundai Getz go 140? (It sounded like the space shuttle on re-entry.)

I can’t drive to stay alive.

Yeah, that takes some doing in a Getz... lol

This 'cop' was not wearing his uniform so I was more than a bit peeved about that too.

"Police in unmarked cars everywhere this year, you just dont stand a chance."

Isn't that the general idea?
