Farmers are allowed guns (registered).
That is where the "Gun Nuts"(tm) rationale falls down. Australians have not been disarmed. According to the Sporting Shooters' Association of Australia, there are no more firearms in private hands than there were before the Port Arthur Massacre in 1996. The difference is that those firearms are bolt action/lever action/pump action long arms for the most part, as against the semi-automatic long arms and pump-action and lever action shotguns which were banned from (general) private ownership. Australian society is quite capable of hunting successfully it would seem with a bolt-action/lever-action/pump-action long arm, despite the claims to the contrary.

Nothing important, folks. Just your average gun ban pushers in America:

Try reading it slowly, Neferti. You are allowed to move your lips while you trace the words on the screen with your finger tip if that helps you to understand what has been typed...

My eyes have glazed over, again. I can't see/hear what you are saying? If I try to read what you write backwards, would that stop the eye-glaze thing? Slow doesn't do it. :sad

Brianka (inspired by Ivanka Trump), listen mo chara,

Who gives a shit about hunting weapons like bolts and IPSC shooting. Food is accessible nowadays everywhere and only 0.00001% of every population compete for money in the IPSC. If you cannot own at least pistols for self-defence, you are proper done! A proper Nazi Germany / Stalin's Russia / Mao Zedong's China.

In Bulgaria and in the Czech Republic at least, by law, you cannot shoot someone with your hunting rifle. This is so stupid. That FMJ round is gonna travel fast, it has way more gunpowder and energy and higher velocity than a pistol round, depends on the ammo where I suppose it's not a .22 LR, and it's gonna penetrate everywhere. Maybe even hit some bystanders or headshot your neighbor while he's sipping on some beers.

Plus, who defends his home with a bolt rifle. What a bunch of cretenism. You also cannot carry a frikin rifle while going to work, etc.

Still not grasping simple facts, are you, Flektarn? We do not live in the Wild West. You don't need to use a firearm to defend yourself in Australia. Australian society is peaceful and generally law abiding. Firearms have been misused in the past. After the Port Arthur Massacre, the Australian Government decreed that owning a firearm for self-defence purposes was no longer allowed. Semi-automatic long arms and pump action shotguns were banned. If the purpose of a firearm is for hunting/target shooting - and that is the only allowed use for a firearm - then a bolt-action/lever-action/pump-action long arm is sufficient for that. The majority of Australian voters support tight firearms legislation. Now, you toddle off back to your Wild West society where you fear your fellow citizens and leave us to our more civilised existence, OK? We won't tell you how to live your life if you don't try and tell us how to live ours. Simples, really.

Relax, man. Your time will come. Karma awaits you. Good riddance always deals with the fools, the arrogant and the disbelievers.

I'll tell what the shit I want about Australia. I can even become the Führer of Australia one day. You never know how I become and who sponsors me.
