I just don't personally own a firearm and unless I join the military or police I don't see the need for one. It don't make me more of a man. Nor does a big fast car. To have "proficiency " in a number of fields is no mean feat
Guns, bow, swords

All require considerable dedication and time to become proficient.

Anyone can swing a sword around, but until you actually train in their use, you are an amateur.
Kendo would be a good start, but it's costs a bomb just to purchase the necessary gear, and replacing swords, even though they are bamboo become quite expensive.

Again any fool can shoot a gun
But being proficient requires hours of practice
This is not my field, my accuracy is, as explained to me barn...side...miss.

Now the bow, I'm assuming archery, not bow staff, there is another rather difficult learning exercise.
One I attempted several years ago.
But the old barn.......side.... miss equation came into play for quite some time.
Eventually, I could hit the target, but the bulls eye was a feat never achieved.

Being proficient is not as easy as swinging things around.
