I'm rereading the Dexter books.AiA in Atlanta wrote:Does Hebe the Librarian have any gift books to recommend this Holiday Season?
Also To Hell and back: the banned account of Gallipoli by Sydney Loch
and Aztec by Gary Jennings, which I'm not enjoying very much.
I've just reread Bill Bryson's Thunderbolt kid and have Barbara Kingsolver's new book Lacuna waiting.
Last week I bought 10 discarded books from the library for $3.
I can also recommend Bad Santa for Christmas viewing.
Do you want fiction or nonfiction recommendations?
The better I get to know people, the more I find myself loving dogs.

Will have to search on Amazon to find out about those. I like Bryson and have never heard of "Thunderbolt Kid." Fiction or nonfiction? Both!Hebe wrote:I'm rereading the Dexter books.AiA in Atlanta wrote:Does Hebe the Librarian have any gift books to recommend this Holiday Season?

Bryson's next book is going to be a cookbook.
It is called 'mystery muzzle meals'.
All dishes made from the trapped food in his beard.

If you like Bryson you'll LOVE the Life and times of the Thunderbolt kid - it's about his growing up in the US in the fifties.
I'll have a think about some more. Have you read any James Lee Burke?
