Selfless acts
Today at work, I observed a person helping another with a problem they were having with their work.
The person who was helped was thanked by her boss for doing such a great job.
She looked up at the helper and was about to admit that she didn't do it, when the helper shook their head slightly to acknowledge that she should take the credit.
I observed this from my office, I will say nothing to anyone at work.
But that simple selfless act raised that person in my opinion somewhat.
Has anyone else seen selfless acts that go unknown or anonymous?
These are the true nice people
Not looking for praise or acclaim
Just being nice.

I have a dream
A world free from the plague of Islam
A world that has never known the horrors of the cult of death.
My hope is that in time, Islam will be nothing but a bad dream

Re: Selfless acts
It may not be a selfless act Valk, I have trained a good number of people over the years, Moderated three apprentices over the last 10 years, Shared my hard earned knowledge, Not a totally sefless act on my part, I have always worked on the basis that the more they can do, the less that I have to lol

I thought with with all the negativity, name calling and abuse,
That at least one thread was about something nice.
I know it will be destroyed eventually, but just for a little while........

Re: Selfless acts
I'm resigned to the fact that there will always be some troll being a moron.
I'm willing to get into the gutter and have a go.
But just once, I'd like a nice thread, like that other one, where I can expose my underbelly and let people see I'm not just a bore.
I've seen many horrible things, but I chose to forget them
But every now and then someone does something that makes life worth living.
My wife once paid for a cake that an old man couldn't afford when he bought a coffee at a shop.
He didn't know who did it, she just asked the shop to give it to him and she paid.
I have often felt proud of the things my wife does, without even thinking about it.
I just wish I was as thoughtful as she is so effortlessly.

Everyone is entitled to some angst and to scrap around with each other, it's human nature, but the majority of the time I prefer tranquility and peace. Repetitive angst drives me bonkers.
So the more nice threads the better

Re: Selfless acts
A woman fell in the shopping centre today.
I think she slipped, I don't know.
But people came from everywhere, all offering help, all doing everything to assist.
In Sydney a few years ago, a man fell at central station.
People actually walked around and over him, no one helped.
Are some people better than others?
Or is it the circumstances?
