When I was doing engineering, we has this text book on fluid dynamics.
The lecturer who wrote it was in fact my lecturer at the time.
While doing some work, I forgot the formula for a particular problem, so I developed my own based on my understanding of fluid dynamics.
In short, gas ( for the purposes of general fluid equations) becomes incompressable once it becomes a fluid.

Anyhoo, I did my computations and passed it to the lecturer who promptly put a big red x through it because it didn't have the answer he knew it was.
I asked him where I went wrong, aside from not using the formula.
He worked through it and discovered, to his dismay, that I was correct, he considered gas infinitely compressible.

Even the smartest ( and this guy was a genius, as well as a nice bloke) make mistakes.
Always question What you either are not sure of or don't believe.
Sometimes it just takes a new set of eyes to find a glaring error.

Oh, dearie, dearie, me. Gases never become incompressible. They can go from gaseous, through fluids and even become solids, Valkie. Of course, once the gas has left it's gaseous state, it ceases to be a gas though and becomes a fluid and thence a solid, once more pressure is applied. Tut, tut.
