I started to brew my own beer a while ago.
Made a few really bad batches, due to 'wrong/poor' instructions.
Now making some good ones, found this tip. Something i had considered a while ago.
It may be another improvement,
.......... A common temperature mentioned for ale yeast fermentation is 20 degrees C. I must emphasize that this is the temperature of the liquid in the fermenter, not the ambient temperature.
During active fermentation heat is generated so the temperature of the liquid in the fermenter will be higher than ambient.
Your temperature of 16 degrees C for ambient temperature could be just right to achieve the fermentation temperature of 20 degrees F............... '

Or you could place your brew in an area with a lower ambient temp and heat your wart with a thermostatically controlled heater,

Using kits.
That is more than hard enough and time consuming enough.
The fermenter is best being kept at a stable temp, day and night.
So may have to cool it during the day, then heat it at night.
Will set the temp to 18 degrees next time, maybe 17.
that will be the air temp inside an enclosure I made. So outside the fermenter. The temp of the wort will be a bit higher.
I have 2 small fans in the enclosure to give temp uniformity.

Are you brewing to save a buck or as a hobby Sprint, From time to time I get the urge to make a brew from scratch, I have dabbled a bit in brewing and distilling over the years, I built a nice reflux still at work a couple of years back, produced some good spirit's I will knock a genuine moonshine at some point

As a hobby. Only been doing it for 5 months or so. A very steep learning curve.
Could not see myself doing a brew from scratch. Feel if I can make good brews from kits consistently, that will be good. I am getting better.
Good enough to put my own labels on the bottles now .
What image can I use?

Ahah
.......... Please note that fermentation of the beer seems to be exothermic (a little warmer, about 5f+ than your ambient temp). .......

yep, 17 degrees c it is.
Might try a different yeast, WLP0004 – for dark ale , , WLP036 – for sparkling
