When I last lived in Sydney I lived in St Ives (Upper North Shore) and, as far as I am aware, that is still a VERY safe place. I still have a couple of friends who live there.

Yes, I know Antarctica, a friend of my former spouse was a Geologist or whatever down there. Undoubtedly a lot different now to what it used to be. Penguins are only native to the Southern Hemisphere.

I was last in Sydney about three years ago, Neferti. Never had a problem walking there. I was last in Antarctica about 30 years ago. I don't doubt that it has changed quite a bit since then - global warming would have seen to that. I spent about three months sailing there and back on a resupply mission on the old Nella Dan. We were anchored off shore for about a fortnight. Amazing place. Absolutely amazing and one which I and no one else will ever experience again. Trust me on the Penguins. Never trust a Penguin!

The CBD is of course not greater Sydney, mt Druitt etc, like other towns etc are considered a suburb or a part of greater Sydney.
