I see Abbott has challenged Rudd to a debate on the ETS. I think Abbott might turn out to be a bit more formidable than we thought - even if he only gets more people to understand how the various arguments work, he will have done a lot.

I think Rudd and Abbot should mud wrestle in budgie smugglers for the PM title.

Abbott has also requested that it can be either televised or town hall style but wants it all done before parliament sits again.

I think it would be a smart move for Rudd to accept the debates if only to get people to understand the ETS and alternatives. However, I do not think it will happen before parliament resumes as Abbott requests as that basically only leaves January to do it in.

I don't think that is enough time for a real debate or enough time for public consumption.

Rudd will refuse. Why give the budgie exposure, when he has not presented a viable Policy of his own!

He has refused on those grounds. The smart thing for SOMEONE to do is present the problem and a simple explanation of the various proposed solutions.

Rudd will not debate.

He was beat up in high school, you can see it on his face. That tight smile, even in a sad occasion.

He is a wounded man who turned the pain into power.

And it was the Abbots of this world who did it to him.

Actually Frogbone, he was a debating champion in High School. Fact, as it happens.
