Re: The truth of the Uluru statement
So, 'cause some Indigenous Australians have upset you, Cods, you blame all indigenous Australians for what has been said/done against what has been said/done for them?
Do you think that is really fair? I don't. You really need to see the trees, rather than just look at the woods.

Yet you want all Australians to apologise, as a whole, and make amends to Aboriginals for something none of us did? Something the Brits did over 200 years ago?brian ross wrote: ↑Sat Sep 08, 2018 3:37 pmSo, 'cause some Indigenous Australians have upset you, Cods, you blame all indigenous Australians for what has been said/done against what has been said/done for them?

By your reasoning we should have 1.7 billion muslims apologising to the rest of the world for the atrocities that so few (in your mind) continually commit?
You can't have it all ways Brian.

There appeared to be 2 of the same topic here so I merged them both.

Truth telling eh.
Well one mans truth is another mans lie...
I heard that idiot marcia langton spouting conspiranut rubbish about Cook FFS... these are the radical nutjobs that stir up aboriginal activists with their lies and distortions, no truth telling there.

You can’t argue with that logic Brian.Black Orchid wrote: ↑Sat Sep 08, 2018 3:54 pmYet you want all Australians to apologise, as a whole, and make amends to Aboriginals for something none of us did? White Australians had the power to vote into government state and federal governments which disapproved of the marginalisation of Indigenous Australians, BO. Did they? No, they kept voting in federal and state governments with perpetuated the racist, hateful treatment of Indigenous Australians.Black Orchid wrote: ↑Sat Sep 08, 2018 3:54 pmYet you want all Australians to apologise, as a whole, and make amends to Aboriginals for something none of us did? The last children were removed from their families on racial grounds in the 1970s. The last Indigenous people "move on" from their traditional lands occurred in the late 1960s in Queensland under the orders of Joh Bjelke-Petersen. The last time drill rigs were moved onto indigrenous lands was in the 1980s in WA. The last massacre of Indigenous people occurred in 1927 in the Northern Territory.
All those events are within living memory. All occurred because White, Anglo-Saxon/Celtic settler descended people perpetrated them. Are you proud that those atrocities occurred? I'm not. I am ashamed that they occurred. They did nothing to help the Indigenous Australians, they did great harm. We as a nation should be ashamed of how we treated our fellow Australians merely because they had darker coloured skin compared to the White, Anglo-Saxon/Celtic descended settlers and you wonder why Indigenous Australians tend tp resent how they and their ancestors have been treated?

I wonder who paid for the meeting?
I wonder who paid for all their air fares?
I wonder how many paid their own way?
I wonder how many had to take time off work to attend?
Yeah, they really are in charge of their own aren't they?
NOT

Australia is the only former colony not to recognise the original inhabitants in its constitution.
If it's no problem for them why should it one be with us

Don't we give, give, give, give them enough already?
Isn't it about time they started actually doing something for themselves?
It's like having a lazy, greedy relative living off you.
Never contribute, just take, take, take.
