No idea on it's age or it's state of being, BO. It was just there and it had killed a pigeon, which didn't worry me or the kids (young adults really, I suppose). It was interesting in what is essentially suburbia. I grew up a few streets away from Kublai Khan in Adelaide. He was a (in)famous homing Wedgetail Eagle. His owners had found him as a chick when travelling the Birdsville Track. I remember one day coming out the front of our house to a commotion from the local birds who were swooping him on the chimney across the road. The owners realised he was too big for suburbia and tried to let him go three times in the bush. The first two times, he found his way home. The third time stuck and he didn't come home. He was a magnificent bird, with nearly 2 metre wingspan.

I have bought Lilies from Woolies a couple of times and they fell over with neck droop before they even opened so twice bitten and never again. I sometimes buy them from a florist near Coles but they aren't wonderful either and don't last long.

Last week I was walking into Coles and they had these for half price so I thought ok I will give them a go and to my surprise they are amazing!! A whole week has passed and they are not only as fresh as the day I bought them last week they are starting to open and have HUGE flowers! YAY!

They can be very highly scented lillies, a little overpowering

Ohh, a Frogmouth. I used to have one that lived in the backyard in Canberra. Beautiful birds, just rather hard to see even in daylight, let alone night time. Good picture, Black Orchid.
