Very disappointing game. They had a lot of chances but just couldn't follow them through. They dominated for most of the game. The Socceroos are hounded by bad luck. Perhaps bad coaching.

Sorry that Tim Cahill could not score the much needed goal he was after.

Can't they just ban soccer?

Look at these comments ' ........ Very disappointing game. ........... couldn't follow them through. ........ hounded by bad luck...... bad coaching.
...... could not score............ '

The comments are correct.
It is not a game, it is a tragedy.

Why this Dutch nitwit was contracted to coach the Socceroos through the 2018 World Cup is beyond me.
To be fair on the Dutchman, he was working with inferior players to the other three teams — this was a point he raised often — and that meant he had to try and eke out what he could from each game.

But periods of competitiveness against France and dominance against Denmark and Peru showed the individuals in the squad were not so far behind their rivals.

The Aussies were more than capable of getting through this round and it came down to bad coaching. I hope Graham Arnold will do a better job and I also hope Tim Cahill will still be able to play in another 4 years. That will make him 42 but one of the Peruvian players is 45. The Egyptian goal keeper is 45. The Columbian goal keeper in 2014 was 43.

Cahill definitely should have been put on the field in the second half of the game against Denmark and probably would have made a huge difference to the result of that game.

Orchid,
we'll never get anywhere in the World Cup unless all
of our players are already in the top European leagues and
are borrowed just for the World Cup matches.

It was just nonsense to think that some minor league hacks
from Australia were going to do any good.

I never thought they would win the World Cup, Bobby, but they were certainly capable of advancing further than they did from the 3 games I watched.

With 11 blokes like Tim Cahill we'd have a chance
but we don't have the players.
I don't think we should ever be in the World Cup again unless we have the right
number of A league players.
It's just embarrassing like a no contest boxing match -
you know - a boxer who is so out classed that he doesn't even get into the ring.
