Dear Kimberley College community,
As you may now be aware, this morning the Board of Kimberley College released a letter of employment termination for Paul Thomson, Amy Ferguson, Kevin Ferguson and Jennifer Thomson.
This information comes following the independent investigation into financial management of the college. We encourage you to review the currently released documents at;
http://www.kimberleycolleg.org/independent-review
We thank you for your signatures and voices on this platform and others. For many of you, this was the first opportunity to speak openly and publicly about your experiences and we thank you for the courage shown in doing so. We also thank the people who believed in this petition, regardless of personal experience.
At the point of declared victory, this petition had gained 960 signatures.
This petition is not affiliated with the school Board and as such we ask the Board to ensure considerable care is employed so this situation can never occur again!
We also now ask the Board to appeal for further information regarding student and staff harassment, intimidation and bullying from Paul Thomson and affiliated members of the college.
We continue to wholeheartedly believe in this petition and its statements and have been following closely each news article, petition and Facebook page created and the comments upon them.
Though the battle has been won, the war is not over. For some, this is a bitter-sweet victory for victims of wrong doing whom carry the implications of Paul Thomson and his family. For those who may feel affected by recent events, we encourage you to seek professional advice from reputable organisations and mental health facilities such as;

http://headspace.org.au
http://kidshelpline.com.au
We anticipate that Paul Thomson will continue to fight for his role to be reinstated and declare innocence based on the accusations. However, we ask you to remember that his and the respective employees terminated no longer have positions of authority at Kimberley College.
The board have confirmed that the Facebook page is not currently under school control. The college website has asked for you to disregard future statements on the Kimberley College official Facebook page, until information otherwise. Please use the school website
www.kimberleycollege.org for official school news.
We encourage you to direct formal letters of complaint/statements to the following email.
kimberleycollege@megoldcoast.com As we understand, this email is available to you, at present.
You have shown courage by standing up and signing this petition, regardless of the potential implications that had upon you. We now ask that compassion be shown in acknowledgement of misconduct in the form of an official apology. Whilst we remain optimistic and realistic in this concession, we also believe that this is the first step to build a bridge for forgiveness and restoration.
There will be turbulent times as the school recovers from this predicament and no doubt re-structuring of many aspects within Kimberley College. We ask that community members, parents, staff and the Board provide understanding and encouragement to building a brighter future at Kimberley College.
Mr Thomson once stated the following quote ‘He who excuses himself, accuses himself’. We now wish to state the following Shakespeare quote in response.
‘Th’ abuse of greatness is when it disjoins remorse from power’.
