It's a pity they can't send a large drilling rig to Mars & drill down 100s of meters.
There could be underground rivers & all sorts of interesting sites.
Maybe there, they would find microbes.

I am convinced that there is microbial life on Mars.
The reason is that rocks from Mars were found in Antarctic ice
& therefore Earth rocks must have reached Mars too.
Rocks can protect microbes in a long journey through space.

The rocks were ejected from both planets after massive asteroid impacts.
