A 31-year-old man has been charged with murder after a man's body was found in a unit in Sydney's west.

Police were called to a Villawood unit on Thursday afternoon after reports of an assault when they found the 41-year-old man's body inside.

The 31-year-old was arrested in a nearby street and was taken to hospital where he was sedated and under police guard, NSW Police said in a statement.

He has since been charged with murder and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and is due to face Bankstown Local Court on Friday.

It's believed the two men were known to each other, but not related.

Two Sydney women have been arrested over an alleged $5.7 million family daycare rort after claiming the enrolment of more than 1600 kids during a one-month period last year.

Raids were carried out by the AFP overnight at five properties in Kellyville and Lakemba, in the city's west, with the women aged 28 and 31 accused of money laundering.

The 31-year-old has been charged with dealing with more than $1 million in proceeds of crime, while the 28-year-old is accused of handling more than $100,000 of the same.

One of the properties raided has previously been investigated in a separate police operation into possible terrorism financing from claimed funds, according to Fairfax Media, with two men before the courts on fraud charges.

The women, from Kellyville, are due to face Central Local Court on Friday.

The wife of a terrorist recruiter has been convicted of disrespectful behaviour after refusing to stand for a judge in a Sydney court.

Moutia Elzahed, the wife of jailed Islamic State extremist Hamdi Alqudsi, was the first person in NSW to face the charge after she refused to rise for a judge in 2016 purportedly on religious grounds.

The 50-year-old Muslim woman was found guilty in the Downing Centre Local Court of nine counts of disrespectful behaviour in court.

Elzahed again did not stand but folded her arms when magistrate Carolyn Huntsman left the bench after delivering her ruling on Friday.

The magistrate had found Elzahed intentionally flouted the established court convention on nine separate occasions in 2016 when she remained seated in front of District Court Judge Audrey Balla.

Elzahed said she only stood for Allah, but Ms Huntsman on Friday ruled there was no evidence she was acting on a genuine religious belief or that the teachings of Islam compelled such behaviour.

A member of a well-known family in Sydney's southwest has been granted bail after being arrested by counter-terrorism officers as part of an ongoing investigation into money laundering.

Ahmad Hawchar, 28, was nabbed during raids in Bankstown and Wiley Park on Wednesday morning, alongside a 27-year-old man.

Hawchar was charged with dealing in the proceeds of crime worth $1 million or more.

He was granted bail in Bankstown Local Court later on Wednesday, on condition he report to police daily and put up a $30,000 surety.

He also must not go near or contact any witnesses.

His matter is due to return to Downing Centre Local Court on July 24.

The 27-year-old is set to be charged with the same offence, which carries a maximum penalty of 25 years in jail and/or a $315,000 fine.

The operation was part of a long-running investigating into alleged money laundering and foreign incursion offences, which led to four arrests in late 2017.

Authorities say there is no current or impending threat to the community.
