The discomfort gets me.

Some people are unconcerned with comfort.
Then again, some people are crass too.

Unless I lived in -40 degree temperatures, heated car seats would put me to sleep.

My last couple of motorcycles had heated handlebar grips, great in Canberra winters.

Apparently the Honda Goldwing also had heated seats if I recall correctly! That sounded a bit pussy to me!

You would need more than heated handlebar grips on a motorbike in Canberra on a frosty morning with a wind chill of minus 17! Hope you have "leathers" and the rest of it if you are going to use the bike.

Are they even available in Aus? More a northern hemisphere thing, where they have actual winters where you can freeze your balls off.

I used to commute in the old days with no heated handlebar grips. Used to have to back up to one of those hot water heaters at work for ten minutes to thaw out.

I actually moved to synthetic DryRider clothing rather than leathers years ago much warmer

I still have a bike which should be sold due to it gathering dust in the shed, but its one of those "getaroundtoit" jobs much to my wifes displeasure!
