Change the forum back, Aussie
Okay I am just going to come right out and say it. Change the forum back to the way it was, Aussie.
Political
Off Topic
Sandpit (open inter-forum posting)
Change it all back to the way it was, and let everybody you've banned back in here.
You can see what you've got, nothing but complaints and an on-going drawn-out argument for weeks on end, almost no political posting anymore, no fun chat, and everybody accusing everybody.
You have no forum anymore, give the members what they want.

Oh and Aussie, we want our unlimited post editing privileges back too, while you're at it.

I changed it because a Member did not want unlimited. I'll trial the way it is and you let me know any time it actually affects you.annielaurie wrote:Oh and Aussie, we want our unlimited post editing privileges back too, while you're at it.

It affects me every time, Aussie. I hate not having free unlimited editing power over my own posts.
Even if I don't want to change my post later, even if I have no reason to do so, I still want the option, the freedom to control what I have written. What I have written is mine.

You are aware, are you not, that there is a 'preview' facility you can use, before you finally hit the submit/post button?
If you use that, all your concerns disappear.
However, as a Member has commented.......having unlimited edits allows a sneaky bastard the capacity to change a post well after initially made to accommodate any change of flow in the discussion.
Just give it a go, annielaurrie, I'm very confident you will be fine. If not.....in the event of a real, as opposed to perceived, issue let me know.

Yep, I use Preview every time I write a post. At least we have that, to correct mistakes before posting.
It's just that to limit editing time restricts the great majority of us all because of one or two sneaky bastards who would abuse the privileges. It's always the majority who have to give up freedoms, because a few have spoiled it for the rest of us.
Okay I will give it a go Aussie, and if I will let you know if there is a problem.

There needs to be some limit on editing, clearly. An hour. A day. A week. What works best?
