I honestly cannot wrap my head around the mindset of men wanting to rape children.

What I find worse though are those who are married and the wife does nothing. She MUST know what her husband is like and I refuse to believe otherwise. She should be held responsible too.

There is NO way you can live with someone like that and not know, or at least suspect, something is very wrong.

Disgusting! I have watched shows on the Crime Channel about Fathers molesting their kids ... for years and years ... how can the wife not know that he is creeping down to the kid's bedroom in the middle of the night? I am damn sure I would know that something was not right and report the arsehole! How could you stay with a husband like that? Unbelievable!

Child killer Rick Thorburn is sentenced to life in jail for murdering his 12-year-old foster daughter, Tiahleigh Palmer, to protect his son who feared he had gotten her pregnant and was later convicted of incest.

The 57-year-old will not be eligible for parole until September, 2036.

Prosecutor Carl Heaton QC told the court Thorburn had told his family "it was all taken care of" after he murdered Tiahleigh, to "protect" Trent Thorburn from criminal charges, later dumping her body on a riverbank.

Police charged Tiahleigh's foster family nearly a year after the 12-year-old schoolgirl went missing.
Trent Thorburn was sentenced to four years in jail for incest, perjury and attempting to pervert the course of justice. He was released in late January 2018, after serving 16 months.

Tiahleigh was reported missing on October 30, 2015, with the Thorburns telling police she had not returned from school. But the girl was already dead.

Her body was found six days later on the banks of the Pimpama River on Queensland's Gold Coast.

When her body was eventually found on November 5, the cause of death could not be determined because of the state of decomposition.

The Supreme Court heard Tiahleigh was mostly naked when her body was found and there was a bruise on her scalp.

what also gets me is why this child was placed in a homes with two teenage boys????>.

what a life that child had.. what little there was was miserable.....I saw the maternal grandmother on TV tonight she has since died...

but having my two little grandsons here for the week end while mum and dad are in Sydney for the life of me if my daughter could not take care of her children no way would I allow anyone to put them in foster care.....it wouldnt happen and I am sure any grandparent on here would say the same..

that child had more than just a birth mother... why wasnt she treated better than that? what sort of people make these decision?????>...

and please dont tell me they are still making them for other lost kids..

they were all very weak sentences but its Qld what do you expect,..

The foster brother of slain schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer has been released on parole after spending 16 months in custody on incest and perjury charges.
Trent Thorburn was released from prison in Brisbane on Friday morning, having spent 12 months in custody before being sentenced to four years jail in September.

He pleaded guilty to having sex with the 12-year-old girl and lying to the Crime and Corruption Commission.
His father Rick Thorburn is awaiting trial for Tiahleigh's murder, while brother Josh and mother Julene were spared jail time after pleading guilty to perjury charges last year.
Tiahleigh's body was found on the banks of the Gold Coast's Pimpama River in November 2015 and police swooped on her foster family the following September.



neither the mother or older bros served any time....all suspended.......

Unfortunately (IMO) it attracts a discounted sentence..........I could write a thesis on that!!!!

It does attract a lighter sentence and that is absurd. Do anything you want to another person and all you have to do is admit to it to get let off lightly?

I wonder how many innocent people have admitted guilt just to get a lighter sentence after their Counsel has told them they have no hope of winning their case?
