Re: Prince Harry and actress Meghan Markle
Well, I did end up watching this "show" last night. It was on "live" on our ABC as well as Foxtel's UK TV and Sky News Channels. No ads but a lot of "talking heads" so I flicked from one channel to the other.
My comments?
I thought she looked like a classic Bride .... well chosen outfit. The looooooooooooong veil dragging up steps and down aisles, minus train bearers was a bit much ... liked that she carried a small posy ... but at the altar it was she grabbing Harry's hand and very obvious who wears the "pants".
It was obvious, also, that there was an African-American "flavour" to the "show" .... lots of Hollywood types, including OPRAH and the Gospel Choir singing a black song (originally by Ben E King), plus the Wedding Preacher ... I put it on mute but half expected the African-Americans to start clapping and waving their arms around, chanting and so forth .... he certainly sold his goods in a flamboyant manner and I doubt that QE2 was amused.
Her mother looked a bit sad, sitting there all alone but at least Prince Charles did the right thing. Just as well the rest of Meghan's "out-laws" didn't get an invite.
Mostly, the "show" went off like clockwork ... as usual. The Poms are really good at that.

I was surprised that they didn't start happy clapping.

https://www.harpersbazaar.com.au/celebr ... eech-16543Pastor Curry delivered a powerful speech that was reminiscent of his sermons at the Episcopal Church in New York, where he became the first black bishop in 2015.
Curry's selection as the wedding's pastor was an important move, as Meghan Markle is the first notable African American member of the British royal family.
The Episcopal Church of New York is renowned for being one of the most progressive churches in the USA, allowing the marriage of same-sex couples.
Curry's expressive speech was followed by an incredibly moving performance of an all-black Church choir.
