I did some cross counrty when I lived in NZ
It was a lot of fun, as it was 'country'
muddy, uneven, over fences and streams.

Re: Running
She had her district today. Poor her, she's cursed and always seems to get a bug before a major event.
She was home yesterday feeling terrible, and this morning she said she's OK. Not great but she'll have a go.
It was a bloody hard race but she managed to squeak in 6th, so she's off to regionals!

Re: Running
If I recall correctly, my daughter had to take part in "cross country" sport when at Primary School. I think that was mainly "around the oval" (many times) and everyone got a "prize" so that those who got a "stitch" and didn't finish didn't feel left out.sprintcyclist wrote:I did some cross counrty when I lived in NZ

I used to run at school, we didn't get a choice, had to do every "sport" under the sun whether we were good at it or not. I was best with the long distance (800 metres?) running, rather than the sprints, once I got going I could keep running (like that Energizer ad).

Re: Running
She does really well, so don't put too much pressure on her to perform. She probably feels she will let you down if she doesn't "win". She is still only a little kid. Wait until she turns 12! Turning 12 is a hard time for girls (and parents).Gordon wrote:She had her district today. Poor her, she's cursed and always seems to get a bug before a major event.
