Cleaning out the gutters.

Post by mellie » Mon May 07, 2018 12:22 pm

I plan to do my own gutters this year, after being inspired by my neighbour who did her own recently.

Any tips appreciated.

Tools, etc

I haven't been on the roof yet, and while up there plan to locate a possum entry point.

make or buy an extension for your leaf blower

We are in a highset house, I blow out the leaves using an extension while I am standing on the ground.

I don't own a blower and suspect the gutters require hefty removal of leaf rot more than simple blowing.

Unfortunately.

Then there's the possum entry point I need to locate.

Worry about the damage being done with her entering and leaving.

in one of the big storms that was coming in last year all these middle aged males ended up in hospital...

remember when the useless BOM put out all those massive storm warnings??

or what that early 2018? :huh?

anyways...

all these middle aged males, 30s, 40s and 50s all ended up in hospital due to them falling off ladders and their roofs due to the panic storm warnings and they wanted to clear the drains before the storms came in... :rain

but guess what...

the HUGE Armageddon STORMS didn't eventuate and we hardly got a drop pf rain or wind... :rofl

Thanks Mechanic,

People underestimate getting up on a roof.
Especially people who have not dome it before.

Ok. I'll think about it. Just like feeling self sufficient.

Do what the rest of us singles do, pay some bloke to come and clean out the gutters. Ditto the lawnmowing.
