ALEK Minassian has been named as the suspected driver in a van attack which caused terror in north Toronto on Monday afternoon after 10 people were killed and 15 injured after the vehicle plowed into a crowd.
The suspect is 25-years-old and comes from Richmond Hill, Ontario, around 30 minutes north of Toronto.
According to the suspect’s Linkedin profile, he is a student at Seneca College.
Police did not have anything on their files in relation to the suspect prior to the attack, according to the Toronto Police Chief Mark Sanders.
They also do no believe the suspect is associated to any organised terrorist group.

Former NYPD Commisioner Bill Bratton reportedly told MSNBC that officials in Canada said Minassian was known to authorities prior to the attack. However, Toronto Police maintain the suspect was not known to them before the incident.
