Of course.
Lol you wouldn't like to think they're still working at maccas or paddling through animal excrement post grad.
Although, with respects to some of these silly courses they offer these days, no ATAR required are rather questionable.
I dare say a few of these graduates end up at maccas or end up perpetual online students.

I did 2 shifts at McShit when I was about 17.
Couldn't stand the smell of the place and still can't.

Re: Private or Public Schools?
That's the trouble with Australian kids... they're overwhelming sense of entitlement and laziness is why their Indian and Chinese peers are snatching spots at selective schools and good private colleges.
Bad luck.
Their parents instilled in them a respect for hard work and study.
Our kids think they're above hard work, be it actual work or study.
Our kids would rather play Football, COD or WOW and as for working at maccas and developing a work ethic....why on earth not?
These are the kids who end up achieving throughout life.
Independently.
If nothing else, maccas gives them a reason to study hard and get good grades
I believe you cant put lipstick on a pig.
If your kids not naturally academically inclined, or isn't willing to work their fingers to the bone, they just won't cut it at uni regardless of private or public education.
Bad luck.

Um, the flaw in the argument is mass immigration!mellie wrote:Mistress Nicole wrote:Fantastic post Mellie well said.mellie wrote:That's the trouble with Australian kids... they're overwhelming sense of entitlement and laziness is why their Indian and Chinese peers are snatching spots at selective schools and good private colleges.

No mention of mass immigration anywhere!

I'm getting reports from the local high school that kids are not getting any feedback or even having their assignments marked properly.Rorschach wrote:According to NSW figures many Public schools are as good as many Private schools re educational outcomes.

The school is bursting and overcrowded.
One parent told me they don't learn much in class, just presented with the curriculum and they have to self learn.
That's really shit.

And who's fault is that, Gordon? I would suggest it is the fault of the Education Department of NSW. The teachers feel overwhelmed, so they aren't marking work.Gordon wrote:I'm getting reports from the local high school that kids are not getting any feedback or even having their assignments marked properly.Rorschach wrote:According to NSW figures many Public schools are as good as many Private schools re educational outcomes.

I have been often asked to become a school teacher by kids, mine and friend's because I teach them. I ask questions. I point out where they are wrong. I explain things to them clearly and precisely. However, I won't 'cause I know, from discussions with friends and relatives who are teachers, I wouldn't get sufficient support. My kids did well at school with my help. If parents are too lazy or it appears, too stupid to help their own kids, that is IMO their look out.
