Re: Pauline's latest stupid pronouncements
I lost all respect for loony Pauline when she jumped on board the anti-vax wagon.
Very irresponsible.
Was she even qualified to an opinion, or like always was scrounging for the moron vote in Ipswich QLD.
Wasn't impressed with her views on removing all children with autism from mainstream schools and stuffing then in a spastic bus either.
Time she joined a circus.

Not even with a teachers Aid Nic?Mistress Nicole wrote:Children with disabilities do not belong in mainstream classrooms.Wasn't impressed with her views on removing all children with autism from mainstream schools and stuffing then in a spastic bus either.
My daughter who's L2-Autism is the best behaved kid in her class, and is thriving.

Re: Pauline's latest stupid pronouncements
Pauline is all about being divisive.
I think she's on the spectrum herself.
She's quirky, that's for sure.
Quirky, but not less.
Admittedly, I can't dislike her, I love her patriotism and her somewhat naive albeit misguided honesty. But I just can't help shake the feeling someone else is moving her mouth when she speaks.
Like she's reading off a script.

No I’m good with it if there’s SSO support. The problem is it’s generally too limited: eg 5 hours a week.mellie wrote:Not even with a teachers Aid Nic?Mistress Nicole wrote:Children with disabilities do not belong in mainstream classrooms.Wasn't impressed with her views on removing all children with autism from mainstream schools and stuffing then in a spastic bus either.

My daughter has an Aid the entire time she's at school.

And I agree with you Nic, there's not enough teachers Aids. The paperwork and bureaucracy is deliberately difficult and time consuming, it's hardly surprising why schools principles cringe at the prospect of making an application to the department.
We were fortunate to have a fantastic albeit small school. Had we attempted to make an application in a larger school, we may not have been so lucky.

That’s great. And plenty of autistic kids can and do achieve, if they’ve got full time support like your daughter.mellie wrote:Mistress Nicole wrote:No I’m good with it if there’s SSO support. Makes me wonder how another members son is doing, but I won’t out him. I’m sure he’ll be along soon to tell me I’m an arsehole.

Re: Pauline's latest stupid pronouncements
The trick is to be their advocate.
My stepbrothers little girl isn't doing well at all.
Large school, neither parent is prepared to advocate for her, she was offered NDIS though the parents aren't prepared,to tap into the resources or go up to the school and respectfully request in-class support or an Aid.
Both parents, are too busy belittling each other and juggling/ scrapping over shared care arrangements.
She's been objectified.
It's all about them, not their little girl.
Poor kid is 7, writes backwards and can't add the smallest of numbers.
