I know it's not a 'girly' thing to like but I really miss splitting wood. We did it ourselves and I really did enjoy smashing those blocks
I can't wait for winter to arrive. Summer is never ending.
We had our hottest April day since records began the other day. On that same day NE USA had its coldest April day.

if I go away camping which I will be tomorrow .. for a short trip.. .I'll split it down to put in my ozpig for cooking and keeping warm... I'll burn it all afternoon and into the night.. .and drinking beers...

my girls always recall the time we spent up in the Grampians once where we were staying in a house that had a wood fire... you had to split the logs down so the kids were out there for ages with the axe taking in turns of splitting wood...
one day we went for a hike and by the time we got back we were stuffed... it was hot.. and we took a wrong direction... (we blame the youngest

they say its going to be a very long cold winter.. so you may get your wish very soon... as soon as the NH is finished with its never ending winter which has pushed well into spring... !!

My Dad loved his 4 girls too. He took us shooting, fishing and so forth. Then some stupid person asked him "wouldn't you have liked a boy" and my dear old Dad said "No, I am very happy with my GIRLS".The Mechanic wrote:

God Bless my Daddy.
* That remembrance made me tear up. After 40+ years, WHY can I still have a cry for my Daddy?

Re: Getting Ready for Winter...
a man that doesn't have all girls doesn't understand...
you woudnt trade any of them for a boy once you have them...
took my girls fishing etc as well...
one of them did shooting for a while...
the eldest used to hang around me while doing repairs and services on cars when younger and she'd pass me tools.. or go get me another cold beer...
we'd all do gaming together.. Mario cart etc... Counter Strike... we all recall how we'd get so far in a game and couldn't get passed one point no matter what... later on the youngest daughter would turn the game on while no one was around and she'd get us passed that point.. and we'd all be like... wtf...
ahh... good times...

I love wood fires, we have a great gas heater though.
