Yes i agree mechanic.

If we do get visited.... we maybe lunch.

However, i cannot imagine what those resources would be except to have a place to colonize. Earth would be perfect.

If you are that advanced, you have all the material, non living, inorganic, out there.

What is rare here is:
- still a molten core so we have a magnetic field protecting us
- a tilt so we have seassons - no place gets too hot of cold
- therefore an atmosphere and water

I expect we are rarer than some scientists think.

I nice place to take over. Good for holidays and a bite for lunch.

Also lot's a cheap labour and a group of monkey's smart enough to be useful.

indeed...

if they make it this far, its for a reason...and it wont be to say HELLOOO!!

we have made a massive mistake in sending out satellites with our DNA and how stupid we are...

I think we should spread our DNA everywhere we can... that is in it's new mutant form.

I fear our legacy will be AI and robots that can reproduce to go where no man or woman could go.

We should get out there.

The only purpose to life is to reproduce and ensure the continued existence of our DNA. So let's spred it everywhere we can.

If we encounter aliens, we need to be sure we have an ability to defend ourselves. If we stumble on to them there is a good chance. If they are space fairing already, they will be so advanced we will have to make friends with them for survival and if that means being their slaves or bread for dinner, that is still survival until we can be freed.

Our future is to turn into the Borg.

How do you define time ?

I suggest you read

Ive read , the big bang theory, E=mc2. Schrödingers cat and Schrödingers kittens and my question remains the same

The simple sounding questions are the hardest to answer.
What is time?
What is mass?

Time is relative and we exist in a time space continuum.
Not only that - we're trapped in it by our mass.

Bloody good question.

Having read all of the above and watched many documentaries and still know jack I think time is:

Nothing but the progression of one interaction to another.
That is, time is a perception of matter and energy interactions, one after another it appears to flow.
That is why time for a massless particle is zero and the interactions with matter/energy creates a sequence of events that to us is time.
My understanding as you approach the speed of light, time moves more slowly from an external observers point of reference and at the speed of light, appears to be stop.
So a light photon doesnt experience time, just a set of interactions as it gets obsorbed, transformed and re-emitted.

Having said that, if i assume the singlarity of the beginning of the universe must have interactions inside it (however the rules breakdown at that point) then time would exist. However i have read that time goes backward in a blackhole to make the equations work.

So in short..... it hurt my brain.

Mass is something that distorts time/space.

Time/space tell matter (mass) how to move. (gravity)
Mass/Matter/Energy distort space/time.

That was easy.

What is mass.... that is unanswered, all we can see is the effect of it.

Try this link.

It gets harder and harder at the paper progresses but is a good read to explain some of the above.
