I played some brilliant Bridge tonight.

Some incisive bidding and some insightful desperate card play.

Never learned bridge. Want to learn it. I was good at Canasta tho.

I have never played Bridge although I have played most other card games. A friend is having Bridge lessons and asked me to go along. I declined, but I might get her to show me.

I like Blackjack

Bridge is 'involving'. Still a very social game.
It's the 3rd most complex game. Chess is 1st, then GO, then Bridge.


Canasta is a great fun game, fast moving, great atmosphere to it.
We used to play blackjack, for $1 max, home rules. Was great fun.

Way back, I used to play 500 ... similar to Bridge, I gather. People get VERY serious about both of those card games ... I have several friends who play Bridge. Not really my cup of tea.

Yeah we used to play 500 every lunchtime at work back in the 80's

When I first left school 1961 we used to play Pontoon which I think is something like Blackjack used to bet in sixpences (5 cents) big time betters eh?

Canasta we loved Canasta with friends in the 70's 80's , first thing was to settle on whos rules we played under. we were taught you could force people to take up the pack but putting out a card they were had melded to stop them going out was the aim. Others rules were it was optional whether you had to take it up.

The main game in my mum and dads family after all the menfolk came home from the pub , (big family) was to play euchre a quick and easy game, my sister years later remembering with fondness our euchre games, decide to go to some euchre club and nearly ended up in a blue with all these old rule nazi ladies, never to go or play again.

The last time I played 500 was IT. My partner (for the game) carried on as though his property was at stake ... HUGE argument about me putting a Jack on something I shouldn't have ... or whatever. Have played Euchre too. Then in the 80's Trivial Pursuit was the in thing ... board game.

My parents used to have friends over for a game of 500. Winter, by the open fire, etc. Hot cocoa and so forth. No alcohol.

I did ask Mum way back whether she had ever played Bridge and her comment was "No, not interested in that nonsense".

I have several friends who do play Bridge.
