Steve Hawkins did not know ...

Post by sprintcyclist » Wed Mar 14, 2018 8:20 pm

............As Hawking has previously said in one of his lectures: “Since events before the Big Bang have no observational consequences, one may as well cut them out of the theory, and say that time began at the Big Bang. Events before the Big Bang, are simply not defined, because there’s no way one could measure what happened at them.”...........

He he was right.
Time didn't exist before the Big Bang.

did Steve actually achieve anything or was it all just theory?

as in...

in my opinion... I reckon this may have happened

but no one can either prove or disprove his theory...

in other words... he never achieved one thing in his entire life :huh?

Theoretical physics is a bit like that.
Einstein predicted gravity waves in 1916 yet it wasn't proven until over 100 years later.

I have a feeling that Hawkins died on Einsteins birthday??

does that sound right?

That's pretty tough.

Newton's Theories are not correct but they are good enough approximations that a year 10 can use and they allow us to send craft into deep space and slingshot around planets.

Einstein's theories on General Relativity are not proven but all observation at the macro level show he was spot on. This proved invaluable for GPS to work.

Hawking theories are the first step to integration quantum Theories with General Relativity and black holes allowing us to dig deeper into the universe mathematically.
Forty years ago, Stephen Hawking famously announced black holes evaporate and shrink because they emit radiation.
This so-called 'Hawking radiation' was a revolutionary theory, but due to the fragile nature of the escaping radiation, has been difficult to prove.
Now, two separate groups of researchers have discovered evidence to back up Hawking's claims - and their discoveries could finally help win the eminent physicist a Nobel Prize.

interesting Theory...

here on earth... we are already starting to think about our Resources and how we could mine other planets, asteroids, moons...

but thats a long way away...

but what if a more advanced civilisation is already mining other planets??

what if they find out planet and want our resources??

would they come in and ask us politely if they could have some.. or would they blow us off the face of the earth??? would they find one of our satellites that we have sent out in space that carries out DNA and location???

would they invent a disease, knowing our DNA, and kill the lot of us with this disease before moving in and taking our resources ????

This is what Hawkins theorises...
In 2010, nearly 8 years ago it was widely reported that Stephen Hawking warned if aliens do in fact exist, humans should try their best to avoid them.

At that time, he was speaking for a television series. He said that an advanced space-faring extraterrestrial civilization would probably be wandering around the universe for a specific purpose: probably to obtain vital materials to preserve their own civilization, and that would of course put them in direct conflict with any residents of Earth in objection to their acquisition of our resources.

Basically just as the Europeans pillaged and destroyed civilizations in the Americas, Stephen Hawking cited a readily observable dynamic to paint a quite self evident picture of a possible scenario.

In an episode of the now kind of old television show “Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking,” he said:

“Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonize whatever planets they could reach. If so, it makes sense for them to exploit each new planet for material to build more spaceships so they could move on. Who knows what the limits would be?”

It was a four part series, in which he explored topics such as the origin of our universe, aliens, and time travel.

In one of the episodes, he makes a very interesting claim that an alien species might have the capability of harvesting solar energy and then using it to open up a wormhole in space, in order to travel to extremely distant regions of the universe.

“It might be possible to collect the energy from an entire star,” he said. “To do that they could deploy millions of mirrors in space, encircling the whole sun and feeding the power to one single collection point.”

People have all probably heard that Stephen Hawking passed away recently. Rest in peace Stephen Hawking.
