The change to the constitution proposed in China to allow no limit to the number of terms of their number 1 smells like a new dictator for life situation.

No pretending like Putin to work around it.

So I would be worried if i was Chinese. From a world perspective, a tyrant in China will be bad long term for all of us.

How long also before China has to take even tougher action to make its economic renaissance a greener one?

These questions, while urgent, are ones that China’s leader now seemingly wants to take his time over. It might be too easy to see that habitual Chinese caution drift into complacency and carelessness. After all, this is a regime which is rarely troubled by its media or internal challenges, and it is about to take another step towards authoritarianism. Modes of thought and policy are not being criticised, tested or questioned, and mistakes are all the more likely for the lack of competition in people or ideas.

All in all, this is a regressive move for a nation so set on forwards development

25 years ago I told all and sundry on the Internet (which was just becoming "normal" for the average person) that CHINA would become The World Power. Americans refused to comment. USA is ALL POWER FOREVER ... right?

The USA is China's top export market and Trump could collapse the Chinese economy very quickly if he shut that down. I very much doubt China will rise to be a world power in the near future.

Hence they are stealthily trying to control the trade route in the South China Seas which makes up more than half of the world''s global trade sea routes. Buying/leasing Port Darwin is all in the plan but let's face it ... if there was war and the US needed Port Darwin? They would just take it, with our help of course.

Yeah, all that. I just see the Chinks taking over the World ... unless the Muslims get there first. 2025+? I doubt I will be around. I shall just "disappear" .... gone but not forgotten.
